Budapest is a dynamic city, where lots of things changes even in a sort period of time. Not everything discussed here happened in the last two minutes, but perhaps many people don’t follow everything has happened here in the last years. Lot’s of spas was reconstructed in a short time, and the new Buda Castle Bazaar was handed over as well.
The Buda Castle Bazaar – Budapest news
The Buda Castle Bazaar is just opened just recently. Some outside parts are still under construction, but the garden now can be visited. The older building was ruined totally. Formerly it was a famous place for concerts, and some commercial places was here as well, but long left without reconstruction. The new building will give home for tourists, and some art galleries as well apart from some commercial activity. It is located at Buda side not far from the Danube, the building approximately 100m (328 ft) long.
From the upper garden of the Bazaar the Parliament building and the Gellert hill is also can be seen.
Europe’s biggest museum project in the Varosliget city park – Budapest news
In the Varosliget city park 5 new buildings will be built and the whole area will be reconstructed. The new buildings will give home to the new Photo, Etnography, Architecture Museums and the House of the Hungarian Music.
Currently a international Architecture Design contest is on the table, where the international jury gave two first and two second awards.
The two first awarded Design by Snøhetta and SANAA (Sejima and Nishizawa and Associates) is very interesting: one has a Piramid like shape, other has a Pagoda shape (see above). Both design let’s the visitors to check the neighboring areas from the building.
The whole covered area will remain under 7% in the Park, and the Green area will be 65% instead of the current 60%. The new buildings and extra green area will come to the place of currently concrete covered areas and old buildings.
The Balna (Whale) building – Budapest news
The Balna building has not been opened for several years, but now it is available for the public. It is located in the South Pest area near to the University of Economics.
The Zoo now operates in the bigger size, as the former Fun park now is part of the zoo as well.
Several little animal has born, and come here from different places, for example now there are Koalas also can be seen in the Budapest zoo. Two baby giraffe, a baby elephant, baby gazelle, baby zebras are in the Budapest zoo.
