Today riding on scooters more and more popular. Budapest is a relatively big city, this way a scooter is a very useful vehicle to visit several places in relatively short time. A scooter enables us to check places like Gellert hill, Buda hills, Castle area, Danube bank outside of city center, the Palvolgyi or Szemlohegyi cave, the Roman bank, or Soroksari Danube branch easily.
Some places they are ask for deposit, which they give back when they get the scooter back. The deposit is usually at least 60-80 000 HUF perhaps depend on the Brand of the Scooter. Some places they don’t ask for deposit. The rates starts around 8-10 Eur/day. According to my opinion the scooters with bigger tyres are more safe. With smaller tyres it needs careful riding in curves and avoid road problems are essential. Some practise is useful to check how is it going before rent a bike. In Hungary a car driving license is enough for riding a scooter. Usage of helmets is obligatory.
