Location: Szt Gyorgy square 2, Budapest 1014
Public transportation: From Deak square bus no 16, From Szell Kalman square the small “Castle bus” or by funicular from Clark Adam square, Buda side near to Chain bridge

Permanent exhibitions:

• Budapest in the modern age
• Gothic sculptures from the Royal palace of Buda
• The history of Budapest from the prehistoric age
• The medieval Royal Palace of the Buda Castle

The Aquincum museum

The Aquincum museum can be found in the older Buda area, the names comes from the Roman era name of the settlement

The permanent exhibitions are:

• The history of the nations in today’s Hungary area
• Stone exhibition from different ages (Roman age, Middle age, and beginning of New age )
• The Hungarian coronation robe
• Hungarian history from the invasion until 1990
• Hungarian scientist who made the XXth century

 

Budapest museum of Terror

– the official name is House of Terror

This museum shows the horror of different regimes in different rooms, what the different dictatorships made with the people. Perhaps this museum is not for everyone. Not very interesting for kids.
